TrailsDirect access to crown land trails and Charcoal Lake famous for its tremendous perch and pike fishing. A whole world of wildflowers, birds and wildlife abounds here among 300 acres of forest and woodlands with access to secluded Charcoal Lake. Dorset TowerSpend the day photographing wildlife, hiking to the Dorset Lookout Tower directly across the road, and then enjoy a campfire under the stars.
LakesWe have water access to Kawagama Lake with its waters known as among the cleanest in Ontario. The Lake has earned a fine reputation for fishing, especially for Small mouth Bass, Lake Trout, Speckled Trout and Yellow Perch.Use secluded Charcoal Lake for swimming, canoeing, paddleboating, fishing, a fifteen minute walk to a natural paradise with no motorboats or jet-skis.
FishingThe area surrounding Dorset is a popular fisherman destination. It is dotted with dozens of lakes which can be easily accessed from many roads. Many speices of fish can be found here including: Large and Smallmouth Bass. Lake Trout, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Perch, Whitefish, Pike and many more.
There are several public docks and boat launches in the area.

HuntingThe majority of the area surrounding Dorset is Crown Land and there is an abundance of wildlife. Moose, white tailed deer, black bear and a variety of small game and wildfowl can be found here. Resident hunters are welcome at the Nordic Inn. You can choose a guided hunting plan with our expert or find your own hunting area. Almost all the land around us is Crown Land, so resident hunters will have no problems finding prime areas to hunt. SkatingThe Dorset Outdoor Skating Rink is open all day long (weather permitting) and people are welcome to come for a skate, listen to music, and enjoy the winter wonderland surrounding this beautiful rink.
